Newtown Primary School's canteen is "The Caterer's Tray Cafe". This is a business run by the staff and students of North Geelong H.S. The canteen is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Thursday is declared 'Healthy Thursday' and the canteen menu is specifically designed for students to think about healthy food choices for their lunches and snacks.

The school needs to be informed of any medical conditions, allergies etc from which your child suffers. In the event of an absence, a note must be always sent to the class teacher in order that the reasons may be recorded in accordance with attendance regulations. Children who are ill should be kept at home until they are well enough to take part in the school program.

If your child becomes ill or is injured at school, you will be contacted. It is essential that you give the school the name and phone number of an emergency contact who can come for the child if we are unable to conatct you.

A Certificate of Immunisation is needed for each child enrolling at the school. This is available from your local health office.

Any medication that needs to be taken during school hours must be sent to school with a note for the class teacher. The note must indicate precisely:

• The reason for the medication
• The name of the medication
• The exact dosage
• The times of administration
