School Information
After School Care
At Newtown Primary School we offer a comprehensive Outside School Hours Service. Before School Care begins at 7.30 a.m. and continues until 8.45 a.m. We conduct an After School Care Program (O.S.H. ) from 3.30 p.m. until 6 p.m. on school days and also on Pupil Free Days.
A Vacation Care program also operates during the term breaks (more information regarding the program may be gained by speaking to the co-ordinator, Adele Elek, on 0432 567 032 (between 3.15 and 6pm).
Enrolment and costs are available upon request.
A range of stimulating activities is organised for the pupils. Parents are required to provide a snack for afternoon tea.
Excursions
Newtown Primary School charges an annual excursion levy which is currently $95.00. During the year your child will have the opportunity of visiting some exciting venues which relate to topics being studied in the classroom. Often there are incursions when performers visit the school to present music, drama, science and other special programs.
Because you have paid the excursion levy you will only need to complete a permission form and return it to the school.
Camps
Newtown Primary School conducts a Camping Program from P - 6. Prep and Grade One children enjoy a Camps Activity Evening during Term 4, when they go home, then return to school at 5pm and engage in some fun sessions followed by a BBQ tea. Parents will be approached to volunteer as assistants early in Term 4. In 2007 the year 3/4's had an outdoor adventure camp at Bacchus Marsh. The year 5/6's experienced life on the goldfields at Sovereign Hill. These are examples of the exceptional camps our students can experience.
